How Not Broken ADHD is written, sourced and kept up to date
Not Broken ADHD is a free, plain-language ADHD resource in English, Arabic, Hebrew and Hungarian. This page explains how the content is made, so you can judge how much to rely on it.
Who writes it
The site is written by someone with lived experience of ADHD and a late diagnosis. It is not written by a licensed clinician. That is why every article is checked against established health sources, and why nothing here is personal medical advice.
How articles are sourced
- Medical facts are checked against established sources such as the NHS, the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health, NICE guidelines, the American Psychiatric Association and MedlinePlus.
- Country-specific information, such as how assessments or prescriptions work in Hungary, Israel or Saudi Arabia, is checked against that country's official health authorities where possible.
- Every article ends with a list of the sources used and links to read further.
Updates and corrections
- Each article shows the date it was last updated.
- Articles are revised when guidance changes or when an error is found.
- If you spot a mistake, email notbrokenadhd@gmail.com. Corrections, especially on medical or religious accuracy, are treated as a priority.
Medical content limits
The site explains ADHD and its treatments so you can have a better-informed conversation with a professional. It does not diagnose, does not give personal dosing instructions, and never replaces a doctor. Never start, stop or change a medication without your prescriber.
Independence, ads and affiliate links
- The site is free to read and may show ads (Google AdSense) to cover its costs. Advertisers have no say over what is written.
- Some product links are affiliate links, marked as sponsored; they never decide what we recommend.
- Ads are kept out of the personal, faith and crisis sections. See the privacy policy for how ads and analytics work.
Translations
Articles are adapted for each language rather than translated word for word, and local facts are checked for the countries readers are most likely to be in.
